I had the good fortune to be able to attend the first eBay: On Location conference in Atlanta this past weekend. Not only was the production of the entire event impressive, we were delighted to meet so many sellers and eBay staff (including CEO John Donahoe). Even though the seminars were focused on providing education to eBay sellers, our team certainly learned a lot.
The theme during much of the seminar centered around increasing efficiency during the selling process, especially in how to manage buyer messages. Shipping was also a huge topic of discussion, one that prompted many sellers to ask questions about applications and processes that they needed help with. In fact, the only sponsors outside of the eBay fold were all shipping related.
John Jantsch from DuctTape marketing gave an entertaining and informative presentation on Social Media and Sarah Brubacher, Director of Top Seller Development at eBay gave sellers some excellent tips on how to grow and streamline their business. But perhaps the most well attended presentation was Top-rated Seller Secrets where Jim Griffith, Senior Manager of eBay Seller Strategy, hosted a panel of three top sellers from varying categories.
You can checkout some of the latest video and news on their Events Page. If you didn't get the chance to attend eBay: On Location in Atlanta, you don't want to miss the next one in Dallas, Texas on May 7 and 8. We're planning on being there too!
