Q2 of 2015- More Growth for Etail Sales

The US Census Bureau released the e-commerce retail sales numbers last month. Unsurprisingly, sales are up 4.2% from the first quarter of the year, at $83.9 Billion. This number is an increase of 14.1 % from the second quarter of 2014 when sales figures only increased by 1% from the first quarter of 2014.

An important piece of information to note is that ecommerce is taking an ever larger piece of the retail sales pie. This quarter, e-commerce sales made up 7.2% of total revenue, up from 6.3% in Q2 of 2014.

According to Internet Retailer, internet sales were responsible for most of retail sales growth. Take a look at the article “U.S. web sales climb 14% in Q2”. It shares some great numbers and insights of the state of the ecommerce industry. We certainly hope that the trend continues!
