Cyber Monday is fast approaching. 2014 saw over $2 billion dollars on this single day. Hopefully everyone has completed their etail homework and has a plan in place to make the most out of this busy sales day. RJMetrics reports that the holiday shopping season can result in 30% of a seller’s entire year. The holidays can literally make or break a business.
Start the holiday shopping season off with a bang! To optimize total holiday sales, etail sellers should create and follow an actionable strategy. Here are two easy ways to improve Cyber Monday performance:
- Threshold-based shipping promotions. Encourage customers to increase the total amount of their purchases by giving them the incentive of free shipping.
- Doorbusters. Use the scarcity of popular stock items to increase sales intensity. If you have limited availability of popular items, use “flash sales” to create to increase traffic on your site. While not every customer will snap up that particular item, they may see something else to purchase.
